Brave, Or Barmy
Each time I log onto my e-mail provider, they currently show me a video of the US astronauts rocket lift-off, and each time it fascinates and frightens me. Would I do it ? No way. But no astronaut is going to be a few stars short of a galaxy, so undoubtedly these two guys are brave IMHO.
Here's wishing them good luck in the docking with the International Space Station later on today (3:30pm BST).

The hoaxers however never seem to have an explanation for the questions we ask. eg how did the reflector marix(put there by Buzz A) that is used to bounce a laser off to measure the distance between the moon and earth pretty well every day get up there?
The two heroes are there! They have done it!

I have to say though, TTT, that laser reflector project was a bit baffling, (for me anyway!) when you consider that the Reagan STI was inoperable because the proposed use of laser technology wouldn't work, due to Earths gravity bending the laser beams. I often wondered why they weren't affected with the moon reflector. Need clever and knowledgeable people to answer that please!
True, they are hardly stepping into unknown territory but they are undoubtedly brave. I wish them a successful mission and, eventually, safe return.
As for conspiracy theorists; do any of them actually realise just how many people have to be 'in on it and to keep schtum for it to work. Whoever it was who said, "One person can keep a secret, but not two" never spoke a truer word.
