I’ve no problem with this at all, save people not sending their sneezes your way
But why wait till mid June, why not now ?

To be pedantic, it won't be mandatory to wear 'masks' (as in the title of your post) but only to wear 'face coverings'. The official advice has always been (and, as far as I know, still is) that purpose-made face masks should only be worn by those who're in contact with people who're displaying Covid-19 symptoms or by certain other health professional s. >Em, I think you need to compare there deaths with ours, don't you think? just in case you don't. Because they started wearing them from the beginning, they are now seeing the results of that early decision.
Thanks Teacake. I'm well aware of the figures. Deaths per million- we are on a par with Spain and a bit worse than Italy. Cases per million- Spain are much higher than us.
So they wear masks but still have high figures- while we have a had an incompetent PM and lying, incompetent health secretary and no PPE apparently according to your negative posts.
The evidence on face coverings is marginal at best. Social distancing is what matters. A face covering is of marginal help only if you don't social distance and provided you handle the mask properly which too many don't

// I struggle to breathe without a mask so I can't see me wearing one and there will be plenty of others like me.
Wonder if I'll be glared at! //
no. you'll be refused travel, as covering your face will be a condition of carriage. current version here, the new one hasn't been uploaded yet. https:/ /www.na tionalr ail.co. uk/Nati onal%20 Rail%20 Conditi ons%20o f%20Tra vel.pdf
not sure how those with difficulty breathing will be dealt with - probably you'll need a letter of exemption from your GP.

We have the highest death rate, but you cook it how you like, and were not finished yet. Most of your post relates to old evidence of face masks/coverings, social distancing don't work, unless you want to carry a tape measure around with you, or pop into Halfords and have some sensors fitted to your pants so they beep if your on a collision course. The droplets can travel up to 20 meters. Why would the government be prepared to fine you for not wearing one if there no good.
15.23 Naa, you got it wrong, your getting very confused. If someone coughs 20 meters away from where your standing, and their not wearing a face mask, then the finer droplets can travel up to 20 meters, towards you, if you have a mask on there's a very good chance they will stop the droplets enter your nose and mouth. If that same person wears a mask, then there's less chance of it spreading to 20 meters. So to conclude, if both wear a mask then there's less chance of the virus spreading. Hope this helps, its just common sense really. Oh, and why do you think care homes were crying out for masks for the last 4 months?
have we had yet - there is no good evidence ( "weak") evidence that facemasks work
that no is meant to cough 'at' people
that the length some bits of breath spread is irrelevant to virus spread and so all that has to be done AGAIN = properly
and by the end of the day the mask becomes a sodden infected mess abit like someone hankie only it is over their face and they are breathing thro
they havent mentioned it? well I have now
