When I'm using video conferencing, whichever one you like, Zoom, Google Meet, etc, my camera always freezes. I have to continuously refresh it over an over in order to avoid that frozen in time look. I'm on a new up to date MacBook.
We watch the BBC News channel and we've noticed lately how much trouble they're having with live links. Only this morning they had two people set up to talk to; the first one was coming and going so much they temporarily switched to the other person. This was no better so they postponed the topic for a while.
It goes to show that anyone outside of the major cities or the M1 corridor has a fairly inadequate internet experience to those within. Our broadband is fine for basic use but the minute we try to stream something chunky or use Zoom is gets the stutters.
That explains it, Maydup. Twisted pair is slow compared to fibre so you often get buffering when watching video. That's not too bad if it's a film or something, as you can pause it to let it get ahead with the downloading but you can't do that with live feed like Zoom.
