When I'm using video conferencing, whichever one you like, Zoom, Google Meet, etc, my camera always freezes. I have to continuously refresh it over an over in order to avoid that frozen in time look. I'm on a new up to date MacBook.

Any ideas?

It's most likely your internet line.

Guessed as much.
We watch the BBC News channel and we've noticed lately how much trouble they're having with live links. Only this morning they had two people set up to talk to; the first one was coming and going so much they temporarily switched to the other person. This was no better so they postponed the topic for a while.

It goes to show that anyone outside of the major cities or the M1 corridor has a fairly inadequate internet experience to those within. Our broadband is fine for basic use but the minute we try to stream something chunky or use Zoom is gets the stutters.
Are you on fibre broadband?
Question Author
No, I check every so often and the answer is always the same.....sorry this package is not available in your area.
That explains it, Maydup. Twisted pair is slow compared to fibre so you often get buffering when watching video. That's not too bad if it's a film or something, as you can pause it to let it get ahead with the downloading but you can't do that with live feed like Zoom.

Thanks bhg, I'll stop getting cross with the device and keep checking for fibre broadband.
You can still shout at it, Maydup. It won't do any good but it makes you feel better.
