Did you dial the wrong number?
123 - told me it would be 2:27 precisely

Tried it again. I had it on hands-free and two sounded like three.
All good here and correct, 2.35 and a few secs.
Terrible accent though.

I agree, Sparkly. Very disappointing.
Time on your computer will be as accurate as the speaking clock.
Tony, but the computer does not give the seconds which are necessary to set your watch accurately
Here is how Alan got the gig, I like his voice.

Yes it does. Simply right-click on the clock at the bottom right of your screen and select 'Adjust Date/Time' to see the sweep second hand.
I like his voice.
Do you have to pay for that service, 123?
^^^ You have to pay for everything theses days, Barsel!

Unfortunately I can't quote you a universal figure though, as 123 is a number where the calling charge can vary across different phone providers.

Five years ago though, 'Which' was reporting the cost as 'at least 39p':

Alan Steadman does have a lovely voice. He used to have a Jazz radio show and lectured on the subject.

He was also a Civil Servant, he was my boss for a handful of years.

Comes over as a nice chap too, he won it fair and square.

50p with Plusnet.
Frequent complaints arise through Openreach and their contractors using it when looking for spare pairs.
