new TV drama on BBC 1 about Phyllis_Schlafly - i can highly recommend it, surprised no one has mentioned it already. also on BBC i player where you can watch all episodes. It comes with a corker of a soundtrack too.
she opposed many things including the Equal Rights Amendment in the USA, she was undoubtedly a force to be reckoned with. it is mostly based on fact, Cate Blanchett is amazing in it, a towering performance as they say
Given the subject matter, is it something specifically you ladies would really enjoy (a la Call The Midwife) or would us hairy bottomed blokes enjoy it, too?
Ken, as a piece of history, its worth a watch. Its not a la Call the Midwife. for a start it helps to have a basic understanding of US politics, and the women's rights movement back in the 60's, 70's, but its so much more, give it a go...
Cate Blanchett is one of two actresses (Tilda Swinton being the other) whose presence in a movie is reason alone for me to watch a film. Absolute class.
