Not counting Blair's wins is rather silly. He did move the party more to the centre, but they were still Labour.
Arguably Cameron tried to do the same in 2010, rebranding the Tory party as caring and definitely not nasty, except he didn’t quite win outright. But it would be a fool who would contend that Cameron wasn’t a Conservative Prime Minister.

not just a move to the centre it was a binning of Labour principles from Time immemorial. It was basically an act or political TG from Labour. Even current Labour rarely speak of the Blair "project".

Conservative voters who trusted Tories with the economy should be melting ...

1) Brexit. The whole thing has happened under the Tories. Fine as an ideology. Not fine as an economic decision, to leave the world's biggest trading bloc. Still, it opens the door to direct deals with China ...
2) Except today we told China to get stuffed. And
3) On top of this we have Covid, and the choices taken to whack the economy since March

These three things together are going to be crippling.

A shame there was no better alternative at voting time. It seems that the best conservatives don't go into politics any more.

Party membership is pretty much irrelevant to election results, as demonstrated by the Labour party over the last few years.

Governments are elected by the massive majority of people that aren't interested in joining a political party.

So somehow shutting everything down and not letting people see each other or travel anywhere for 3 months is fine, but now people have to wear a bit of fabric for an hour or so now it's some sort of large scale attack on civil liberties. Zero logic.

A period of separation makes sense and happens with consent, when the threat is great; being paranoid for no benefit save giving control freakery kicks for those in power, after the peak, is not. It's hardly rocket science, and sad it needs pointing out to anyone.
