Hi,
Does any one know what I can do with craime fraiche?
I use a bit to make a pasta dish, but I've always got about half a tub left afterwards that I always seem to throw away coz I can't think of what else to use it for!!
Any ideas appreciated

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Treat it like yoghurt - add some honey or fresh friut and have it for breakfast. Use it instead of cream in a sponge cake, have a dollop on your cornflakes, just eat it straight out of the tub, with a friend and a bar of chocolate, or some strawberries. Stir some horseradish into it and serve it with a steak. Stir some chutney into it and serve it as a dip. Make a salad dressing for a 'poor man's caesar' salad with it, adding crushed garlic. Need I go on?
Why not use the whole tub (a small tub, that is) to make a linguine pasta sauce?
Fry chopped up lean bacon in small amount of lemon or chilli olive oil until slightly brown.
Add sliced mushrooms, stir around till soft.
Add chopped chilli or garlic...or both.
When pasta is nearly cooked stir in creme fraiche. If liked stir in 'la vache qui ris' cube cheese or leave plain.
Serve with chopped parsley, coriander or basil, whichever you prefer.
