I think I might go to the Old Spot for a pint lunchtime. I shall see.

There's one we used to go to, it's a couple of miles down a single track lane, no phone signal as it's in a dip in the landscape. It's a 17th century inn.

i love pubs like that, the oldest I have been to is The Prospect of Whitby in London, on the Thames.

The Prospect of Whitby is a historic public house on the banks of the Thames at Wapping in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. It lays claim to being the site of the oldest riverside tavern, dating from around 1520.
