I see figures for new infections bandied about - 50 in 100,000 for example - which isn’t a high percentage - so I wonder what the government considers a ‘Spike’ warranting the imposition of further lockdowns?

a friend in ITU said earlier in the pandemic that on average, onset of symptoms to hospital bed took ten days, and from there to body bag a further 14. getting an early handle on infections gets you 3 weeks+ ahead.
Of course, as soon as I open my mouth the daily infection count rises above 1000 for the first time since June 26th.
Maybe the graph resembles a cartoon bulldog.
oh the rate per 100 000 has doubled ( inPreston)
seems reasonable to me ( to institute further measures)
