Long gone are the Smoke filled Cinemas of the past, thankfully.
It is still a great night out visiting the Cinema to view a great Film, possibly for a Meal and a Drink as well.
IMAX is the big thing especially for the Blockbusters.
However, Audiences have reduced considerably, due to Home Cinema Systems with large Screen TV's.
Do you prefer to stay at Home with the Family, watching DVD's in the peace and quiet of your Home.

I usually need the subtitles, so home viewing for me. I went to see Dunkirk figuring hearing the dialogue wouldn't matter, and that worked okay (it was on Imax, and I don't have a home screen quite that size anyway). But mostly I'm like Chris, settle down with a nice Rohmer on my own sofa.

Islay, you would save money if you have a cinema offering a monthly pass scheme. Pay a one off payment each month and go as often as you want. I know Cineworld do one and it gives a discount on refreshments too.

I have always found cinema sound tracks much too noisy.

Hi redman, home for me. You can buy some really nice size screens, what can beat feet up with a drink and a few snacks with the company of your choice.
