Grass seeds????

I have some dead grass area in my garden and my sister said put some grass seed down, I said I have got some budgie seed I will use that and someone said "you can't use that it grows canabis".
I havn't got a clue so let me know what you think

Silly Leachy, if you plant budgie seed, you'll get budgies!

No, really, you might get something, but it won't be cannabis and it won't be lawn grass either. The box of seed might tell you what plants the seeds are from. Wild birds are often fed black thistle and millet and sunflowers, but I don't know about budgies.

If you want to grow lawn grass, you'll have to buy lawn grass seed at a garden shop or maybe a hardware store. The bag or box will tell you how much ground it will cover. You can choose seed for sun, shade or a mix.

It used to be the case that budgie seed contained cannabis seeds, but I think the practice has been stopped and the cannabis that grew was a commercial type of hemp used for string and sack making.
I cant be sure of this, I'm relying on memory, this is going back a fair few years.
