Oi, mush, never mind the critiques, listen to the s§dding programme.
Question Author
Sorry, I blinked, so must have missed the queue of Answerers who had listened to (and wanted to comment on) the Laura Bates interview on Woman’s Hour:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m000mhwz

Important and fascinating!
Question Author
Laura Bates says she was appalled by the fact that young teenage boys from all over the country were using the same exact sexist phrases to describe their hatred of women.

There does seem to be a ‘movement’ of the wrong sort of men.

I hate (too strong a word; maybe pity) someone of WHATEVER gender who pens a diatribe calling a fine Caribbean country a $h1th0le, repeatedly, thus insulting and demeaning the good people of that country who have fought their way out of the slavery and degradation that we, their white ‘masters’, lumbered them with.

Glad to see that you’ve come to this thread.

Read the links, hear the radio clip; you might learn something.

Well, ynnaymmi, no-one could accuse you of letting go of a bone once you’ve got hold of it. Wrong bone, wrong stick, wrong interpretation, but don’t let small details get in the way of a good hissy, eh?

(If you’d kept a closer eye on me, you’d have noticed that I’m no fan of Stalin, nor what the Soviet Union became, but look, I don’t mind, honest. At least while your blowing steam my way you’re not having a pop at the Caribbean (or any other non-white) country. So good luck, sister.)

Enlightening.

Two links to book reviews in a national respected newspaper, one link to a long-standing BBC radio programme:

and what does the rapier-like intellect of douglas9401 have in response?

“The virtue strong in this one is.”

Sums it up, really.

( possibly by any of: They include the inimitable letter-writer Madame de Sévigné (Marie de Rabutin-Chantal, Marquise de Sévigné, 1626-1696), the revolutionary writer Madame Roland (Marie-Jeanne Philipon, 1754-1793), author-politician Alphonse de Lamartine (1790-1869), author Alphonse Toussenel (1803-1885), and author Louise de la Rameé (1839-1908).
my goodness has this subject not died yet?
I don't think it ever really came to life, woofgang.
Question Author
Considering, woofgang, that this 'subject' is about how the 'manosphere' is organising violence against women, teaching young boys to ape their elders, and how society is (or rather isn't) reacting to this, I find your comment "my goodness has this subject not died yet?" very depressing.

allen, discussing it on here changes nothing though
Question Author
Woofgang. “allen, discussing it on here changes nothing though.”

True, but...

It might be of some comfort to any woman stuck in a relationship with some violent, bullying man, to know that they are NOT alone, that others - even some men - are with them.

And it might make those men on sites like this who think it’s a joke, or certainly not worth their valuable time to understand the situation, realise their infantile attitudes are exposed.
