Why do Celebs etc think it’s fashionable to have hair extensions long pony tails etc, so false, just seen Alesha Dixon on BGT with a big long fake trailing plait.

You're not an old fogey. My daughter thinks exactly the same. Minimal is the best look.

Saying natural is best should only be said by someone who doesn't enhance anything about themselves.

I am natural most of the time ummmm. However, I do still make a bit of effort if we go out, mainly mascara and lippy. I don't think makeup does much for old girls like me. But hair does count. I am quite fussy about my hair and I have a shaggy, messy hairstyle. But I have to admit, it is still coloured regularly. Mousey brown with grey bits ain't a good look!!

My daughter in law has never worn makeup, but she's a natural beauty (that doesn't even realise she is)!

I'm the same as you. Makeup only when I go out out. My hair is similar to yours as well.

well I choose my clothes because I like how I look in them but apart from that nada. Have never worn makeup, last coloured my hair some 30 years ago and last went to the hairdressers around 6 years ago. And what I say is whatever makes you feel good is best. That doesn't mean I don't look at some women (and men) and think briefly "what were you thinking?" but its not my body, not my business.

@apc2604 I agree. Enhancing what you naturally have is one thing (ie mascara on your own eyelashes, lipstick on your lips etc) but adding what you dont have just looks plastic n cheap (eg Botox lips, false eyelashes etc).
It makes me sound old I know but prefer it when people work with what nature gave them!

I do get what you are saying because Alesha has beautiful natural hair, but don’t we all some days just fancy something different? A little eye catcher, a little scintilla?

It's the eyebrows that get me. Almost a monobrow but just saved by a fraction of space between them. And the lips of course, OMG. Enhance is not the word I would use at all.

It's when they paint those thick slugs ABOVE their eyebrows that gets me - you can see where they should be, sometimes too easily
