Just heard on the 6pm Radio 2 news that trick or treating, Diwali, bonfire night and Remembrance Sunday have all been cancelled in the north west of England due to Covid 19. Anyone able to elaborate on this, please?
The actual celebration days haven't been cancelled, just the way to celebrate. Nothing to stop parents having a few games, dunking apples etc in their own home, just for their children. Have seen on Facebook an idea for people to stand in silence in their doorways at 11am on the 11th/11th. Many people clapped for NHS in this way so it may take off.
Yes, roopower, we have a project on it our village to decorate every house with poppies and all stand outside for the 2 mins. silence.
That is the easy bit. next is how we can arrange to collect some money to support the B.L. and H4H; it is quite a problem if people are not massing around the church. I have come up with one idea but it is not ideal. Any suggestions welcome.
