Maybe it is - so long as you don't think they are doubling every 12 days (which is what you mentioned earlier). Because they are not. You can find the number of daily new cases here:

They are the official government figures which are announced each day. As a guide, yesterday's figure (today's have, for some mysterious reason, not yet been released) was 25,177. Half of that is 12,588. The last time they were that low was 5th October (12,593). So it's taken 30 days to double to yesterday's figure.
