Sorry Nailit, I had to break in the middle of my post, so didn't see your posts after 19.08.

//Are you allowed as far as the nearest corridor, nailit? Can she not be brought to you.... if that is the only option?//

As I said Pix, sounds like a plan.
Apparently, my sister (as next of kin) would be the only person to be with her anyway.
Certainly a way of getting around the ridiculousness of all this boolarks.

APC, ILM etc,
things not all that simple.
Good luck... she has rights too. Please let us know xx
They have to do this, it's awful, but They have to avoid new covid cases as they have a ward full of patients to consider You could ask for a lateral flow test so you can visit but I doubt a hospital would be down by this. I find it so difficult to believe as it was never like this, yes terminal patients would be in a side room but they would be getting the care , painkillers etc. Sadly tv has been taken out of side rooms because they can't be cleaned properly and are an infection risk. Try the nurse in charge, a) to make sure your mum gets her pain relief and also sees the palliative care team. Guessing it's a pathological fracture Despite your mum's life expectancy they might still consider surgical intervention, but more likely they will just have to work around it. One thing I have to stress, it shouldn't affect care standards but a relative who kicks off, and causes a scene means staff will be worried about giving care. That anxiety can colour decisions. Stay calm

Thanks Rowan.
I can be a bit hot-headed about things like this but thankfully my sister is the one liasing with the hospital.
//and also sees the palliative care team//
We DEFINETLY dont want the Dougie Mac team involved in her care.
Theyve been awful.
I hope thing work out for your family Nailit.
Idnt read the thread earlyer as the misleading headline thought it was complaining about covid patients getting priority in queues.
Good luck, it's an awful situation. A thought a final visit was allowed now for one visiter , it should be. Maybe you could get tested first if that helps?.
Its right tho sadly that they just can't let lot's of peopel in, it's too risky so they after limit numbers. Same in care homes. Its so so sad but whats the alternative, am not sure theres anything more can be done?
Not much help, I know, but I doubt that she is lying there in agony. They will have given her pain relief.
