Hey peeps my oh just bought a new drill which uses the same battery as our saw. It says that you can actually drill holes in wood but seams you can just attach drill bits to screw in screws. How do you use drill bits? http:// imgur.c om/gall ery/MoH mIvJ

Horses for courses UK. I don't seem to need to drill so much these days, particularly masonry or metal, so I don't have much need for a monster drill. I often use an impact driver to drill out holes for mortice locks.. No problem if you use the right drill bit with a hexagon shank..

There are much cheaper ones for under a tenner if not much drilling is to be done. But watch the drill size range. Some of the chucks take a range of very small drills and some a range of larger sizes. The beauty of the chuck adaptor is that you are not swapping, or needing to charge, two power tools to do one job. i Think that if I were starting again I would get an impact driver and a quality chuck adaptor. I would also be looking for a proper powerful battery, at least a 4.0Ah.

I find I use my multifunction good old Black and Decker mainly to drive in screws for fencing and gardening etc. and only drill the odd bit of timber, so I could get along nicely with and impact driver and drill chuck. I already have a very good set of drills for wood, masonry, and metal anyway, including spade drills for door furniture etc. Ya makes ya choice, and pays ya money.
Thank you for the answer. I do have a question though the silver round thing on our ryobi impact driver pulls forward so thescrew but sits deeper but when you drive it then the round silver think goes back so the screw driver bit is kind of flimsy and loose. Do you know how to use it properly? Its a mystery to us and nothing on the instructions
