Very Sore Arm Muscles.
4 Answers
I have very sore arm muscles from hauling myself up the stairs when I lost strength in my legs during lockdown. I have improved my leg strength and it is getting better.
How long should I have to put up with it and should I take Nurofen to help?
Surely if the pain is lessened by the painkillers then I will keep making the same movements that have caused the pain in the first place.

How long did you have to use extra arm power? how long since you stopped having to use extra arm power? It's like in the gym if you do a new exercise you will be stiff the next day for a few days, then next time you do it it will be easier and less painful afterwards after that you can use more weight and so on, that's how muscles grow. So I'm curious as to why you would still be feeling it.
It all seems to me quite a normal bodily response by your arm muscles to their extra work load. Normal response.
Taking pain killers seem to be a sensible response.
I have no idea how long it will take for your arm muscles to recover and be pain free.
As long as the pain doesn't become worse or your need for painkillers increase, then no big deal.
I would give it a month or so from now and if there is no improvement, then see your GP.
I know nothing of you medical history or medication to suggest any other cause of your problem other than.....overuse.
