Little Seedlings In Front Garden Border

Hi Green fingered ABers out there ... wonder if you can help, please. In our new-ish (created last summer) front border, ever since it's started being so wet, I am having a constant battle with teeny tiny seedling popping up from the earth. It seems that I am having to yank these out, probably every 10 days - need to leave them until they get to a decent size for handling. Am really getting fed up with these appear - I haven't the faintest what they are - and almost get the feeling that all the seeds were in the compost that we poured into the front bed after the brick wall was built! Any advice - I did think of spraying them with some weedkiller, but just wondered if someone can recommend something for this sort of area - where there are other young shrubs that I definitely don't want to kill. A photo would help otherwise keep hoeing them off rather than pulling them up leave them to die on the surface. if they are perennials you might need to use weedkiller use a sheet of card to protect nearby shrubs.

Thanks guys, it's a bit too wet here today to go out and take a photo, hopefully it will have dried up by the weekend, so will get one done and send it. I imagine there's been a bit of growth by now. But thanks for the suggestion of hoeing them out, will give that a go next time. And have some weedkiller at the ready (and something to protect the young shrubs! Cheers, Chox.

Hi again folks, it's just stopped raining, so I popped out and took a couple of photos. Here they are - two different areas of the front border soil ....hope you can see the seedlings .... any more suggestions, please? Oh, and now I can't work out how to attach the photos .....

If you can find a dry windy, winters day, that would be the ideal day to hoe them up. I always remember the old gardeners saying :- "An hours hoeing in the winter, is worth 5 hours in the summer"
Sounds like a weed that likes to get established on ground that gets disturbed occasionally of which there are many.
