So. Many stories of supernatural phenomena are apparent on Answerbank.
So, keeping an open mind, and helping each other understand, let's try and discuss this really interesting subject.
My Christianity, your atheism but belief in, ''something unexplained.''
Surely something to investigate together?

My theory denies the existence of ghosts as spirit beings , as nothing more alive than a picture in a book. I suggest the manifestatio ns of old energy are real but not evidence of any form of afterlife. Believe me, I doubt anyone wishes there was an afterlife and a chance of reunion more than me.

I think we've had this conversation before naomi, and had different definitions.
A ghost is officially...
//an apparition of a dead person which is believed to appear or become manifest to the living, typically as a nebulous image.//
If you are referring to something else, then "ghost" is maybe not the word you mean. Which is why it isn't making sense.

I believe in the afterlife because of experiences since my beloved Dad died and I won't sway from it. Of course I have no idea what it's like as I haven't been yet ! I know my Dad's spirit was around after he died and was waiting for Mum to join him. He comforted me in his own way and I'll never forget it. If anybody wants to come on and ridicule me, I don't care. I feel safe and secure in my knowledge.
How many here would welcome reunion with the dead? What about multiple marriages? Would the dead welcome reunion with you? How would you cope with millions or billions of dead souls from Earth's history, or trillions or more from other planets? Would you miss your dead animals?
To me, the whole thing sounds like rather childish wishful thinking.
