We keep seeing this advert with a Professor asking for yet more money.Surely given how long this research has been going on there are still far too many deaths from cancer as I know from bitter experience.I think it is far more productive to give money to charities providing care.

They have produced some very successful treatments, and are working on more.

Cancer is generally a disease of older people, and as life expectancy increases you are therefore likely to see more cases.
When I was young it was one in a hundred by my teens it was one in fifty. So on. Then one in ten, now one out of two people will get cancer. What on Earth is going on?
There's many many types of cancers, so its a forever on going battle. The sad truth is, and I've said in the past on other cancer threads, the powers that be tend to look the other way when they discover that eating and drinking certain products, and using certain products/ life style gets lost when calculating profits. On a high note, they have had lots of success with many types of cancers, some even cured, some were a persons life would have ended 4/5 years ago, but are still here.

I also speak from experience, my OH had cancer 14 years ago, at that time a new treatment had just came available ( all down to research) we were given the facts of this treatment and the risks involved, then asked if we would want to give it a try, the result is still no sigh of its return after 14 years.
