//West Midlands Police has been accused of wasting taxpayers' cash on creating a "woke" new job role for an assistant director of fairness and belonging. The force will pay the new diversity chief £74,000-a-year to help "oversee improved inclusive culture throughout the workplace".//

So that's the sort of thing the hard-up police are prioritising and spending their money on. Now we know.

If this is the salary for an assistant to do whatever this job involves, I wonder what the boss is earning?

The term 'fairness' has already been deemed problematic because of Aryan overtones. The new guy has reported himself to himself and is currently under investigation by him.

Doesn't 'unconscious bias' training cover this?
unconscious bias training doesnt work

I thought they had shown it was so bad that it didnt do diddly squat. This is the statement from the Min which is long but kinda seems to bear this out

about half way down the first page - there is no good evidence that .....

Unfortunately they havent got to the same place on the truly awful Protect anti terrorism training ( too much hanging on it)
Cheers, naomi. :-)
Interesting read PP... this " inclusion and diversity" they intend incorporating into their "mainstream core training and leadership modules" in the Written Ministerial Statement on Unconscious Bias Training in which they admit that Unconscious Bias Training does not work, sounds like the 'Fairness and Belonging' in the Assistant Director job advert.
New name - same service ?? (Do not Pass the broo office, keep collecting your pay packet)
What does an assistant director of fairness and belonging actually do? i wonder what their working day looks like
£74,000 per annum for a non job?Nice work if you can get it.
