Bbc Quiz : Weeks 1 & 2

(Sorry for the late posting tonight. I fell asleep!)

I had a look on the BBC News website for a Quiz of the Week last Friday but couldn't see one. (I just assumed that, having only recently published their four-part end of year quiz, they'd not got back to publishing their weekly ones yet). It wasn't until several days later that I found out that they'd actually published it a day earlier than usual, on Thursday of last week. So I saved it up for today:

I note that this week's quiz is also showing that it went online yesterday. Perhaps Auntie Beeb has decided that Thursday is a better day for it? (Even if the quizzes do keep turning up on Thursdays, I'll probably keep posting these threads on Fridays anyway though. They just seem to be 'a Friday night thing' to me!):

(I got the 1992 music question wrong - how that got into a quiz on this week's news I'll never know! - but otherwise I fared well, giving me a healthy score of SIX).

ALSO . . . remembering just how poorly some of you lot scored on the JUNIOR version of the quiz around Christmastime, I thought that I'd add it in as a little bonus offering this week:

Scores of 4 and 5 are perfectly acceptable, Twix! (Indeed, the 5 is rather good). Welcome to the 'dismal' club on the kids' quiz though ;-)

Well done with that 6, Lie-in King! The 4's OK too! Just 3 on the kids' quiz though? Well, it's better than me anyway! ;-)

Well, I've started the quiz year as I'll no doubt go on ... dismally.

Quiz 1 - three
Quiz 2 - four
The children's quiz ... wait for it ...................

.......... two.

Still, my scores meet my expectations so it's not all bad. :o)

Look at it this way, Naomi: If you'd scored maximum points on all three quizzes, you'd have had nothing to look forward to for the rest of the year except getting worse. Starting from a low base though, there's every chance that things might get better in the future ;-)

BTW: All the very best people scored just 2 on the kids' quiz this week, didn't they? ;-)

Shouldn't that first one read '1/7', and not '1/5', Tigger? Oh, I see, '1/5' doesn't sound quite so bad as '1/7' does it? ;-)

That 5's a good score though (well done!) and you managed to beat me on the kids' quiz anyway ;-)
