I have the names of the 10 authors in the picture round. However, there is something other than their Scottish or Irish backgrounds which connects them.Anyone any idea what that might be please? Just a hint would suffice.

Is this the one where the names are all Mc, Mac or O'
If so look at the meaning of those prefixes

Thanks JJ109,I did see your answer given previously in another thread but did wonder if that was the Scottish/Irish connection and therefore there was something else which connects them.
I have taken that to mean the Irish/Scottish background, so I'm searching other possibilities. Without joy, I hasten to add. If that isn't the Irish/Scottish connection alluded to, then I don't know what that would be.

I’m with you on that Fizzler.
After a lot of searching I can find a connection for 7 of them but definitely not the other 3. I'm now running out of ideas.
Having read the question again many times, I don't think they require an answer to what the link is as they say "can you name them and discover the link". There is also no numbered question for the link.
Question Author
Surely then there is a link.
Yes there may be a link, but as I said I don't think we need to say what it is.
My thought is why state there's a link if they don't want the answer. Also, as there is a link, it would be nice to find what it is, especially as I have exhausted the possibilities.

Because you often get told there is a link between groups of answers in some quizzes, eg. all answers contain a colour, etc. I’ll repeat again, where is the numbered question that asks for the link? Here it asks you to name the people in the pictures and discover the link. The way I see that is that when you have all the answers the link will be there for you to see. So if you had one of the answers as smith or Morgan, they clearly wouldn’t fit with the link.
I understand your reasoning Angie55, but as the link is reportedly not to do with their Scottish or Irish backgrounds, there should be another link other than their names starting with 'O' or 'Mc' but I still haven't found that and it's frustrating!
Question Author
I did find that some had written works that were banned for various reasons but don't know if it applies to all 10.
That's what I found for 7 of them but not the other 3. That was with extensive searching too.
Question Author
Answer given for the link was that O’ and Mc both meant son of.According to what I found Mac and Mc do mean son of but O’ actually means grandson or descendant of.Didn’t enter as didn’t think that was the connection and couldn’t find an alternative.
