A Dick Emery Moment :-)

I went to Tescos earlier, and as I was queuing just inside entrance, a security guard was stopping some people to make sure they were on their own, without spouse/ family in tow.
Fair enough. He was looking at me, and I thought he was going to tell me to take my gloves off and clean my hands. He asked me if the young gentleman and baby behind, were with me as a family! Well, I looked around, a nice young man with little baby in buggy. I said No, I was on my own. It did make me smile. Made my day in fact! I felt like slapping security guard on shoulder and saying, " Ooh, you are awful, but I do like you".. lol

As she turned away in exasperation, the counter person asked "Are you two together?" and without due thought and consideration for the situation, I blurted out "No, but I live in hope ..."
She was not amused!!
