I've Had The Vaccine...

After musch research and a convo with my consultant I had the Pfizer Vaccine on Friday. Got all my ducks lined up in a row viz a viz side effects -homemade soup in the Fridge, someone to look after the horses etc. - and 'Zilch'! Nothing !

Sat on the couch Friday evening expecting it to 'hit me' at any moment -nothing, except a huge appetite for some reason. My arm was not even sore. OH has his last week ( AZ) and the same -no side effects except his arm was a bit sore for 48 hours. Talked to a few neighbours and two were the same as us, no side effects, the other (male) was laid up in bed for 48 hours, literally could not get out of bed.

Weird.

Like any other drug, the more you worry about side effects the more likely you'll have them.

Except in this case giving a different vaccine for the second dose than from the first one had been explicitly ruled out in the UK except under certain unusual circumstances.

My family of over 50s with COPD and other conditions, aged people with serious conditions, a mix of men and women have all had the vaccine and none had any side effects. None have mentioned sore or aching arms.

I had the Astra yesterday at just after 4. Not even a sore arm although someone else i work with had it Saturday and was then pretty ill with Flu like symptoms 24hrs later. Weird!

Brainiac -I don't think so , not for me anyway. I was fully expecting some sort of symptom(s) and put things in place in case I had to have a couple of days in bed. I waited and waited.... thankfully nothing happened. I must admit the following day was so busy lambing I hadn't time to even think about if I felt ill or not.

no label to read, just got the AZ vaccine and side effects came later that day,..

I had mine at lunch time and by 1-2am I had flu like symptoms. It was only a 24hr thing but I felt terrible.

I had mines (AZ) on Saturday and have had a sore arm since yesterday but other than that, nothing.

I was surprised I didnt have to wait after the jag to make sure I had no reaction but was telt only to sit in the car or walk around for ten minutes.

I checked online and the advice about waiting 10-15 minutes inside the vaccination centre changed in January and no longer applies to AZ jags.

Apparently side effects are mostly noticed after first jab for AZ, but after second jab for Pfizer.

As someone who was sitting at home congratulating myself on the avoidance of side effects and who ended up with the whole shebang, I do not!
