Now I have 1a and the last row,
Have never seen the show.

The omitted letters seems to be the same.
Not sure who the guardians in the grid are.

Will have to read up the plot.

30a sounds like 'calls' ('pages')

The missing letters are the same shape as the large floating/bouncing objects that (somehow) managed to stop escapees - usually by flattening them!

As you don't know the series, hankir (it's etched on my mind) the quote is the obvious one, and (specifically) what he says he isn't needs to be found in the top row to start the escape attempt.

I think the quote could be I am not a ??????, I am a ???? ???.
The escape could start at the clue, his given designation.
But I am guessing too much without reading the plot.

The guardian has a V in the middle but I do not see a V in the grid.
