Got to go and have one of these tomorrow but I am not looking forward to it as I have a very poor gag reflex - sure I am going to either heave or choke! I did consider trying it with a cotton bud but they aren't long enough to reach my tonsils. Are they as bad as I imagine them to be?

No it is over before you have time to think about it. It would be worse if you had to do it yourself

i had one done in hospital, it wasn't anywhere near as bad as i thought.
