Proposed National Memorial To Careworkers During Covid
18 Answers
I am against this and wouldn’t contribute to the money needed to fund it. If it was out to the vote, I’d vote against it.
I’d also be against the government funding it, as has been suggested.
The NHS, and others, did a wonderful job and I fully supported them.
I really, really don’t want reminding of what’s happened though and feel we all need to move on.
What’s your opinion?

What about Police and the Fire Service that were spat on? Check out people in supermarkets that worked with little PIP were and swere abused and assaulted because there was no toilet paper left?
There should be a memorial to ALL people who carried on with their job for the good of the community during the pandemic.

Pixie probably because I am not a hospital or care worker I view this differently.I work in a supermarket and we have worked throughout the pandemic and we view it as “doing our job”and being in a rural area we have been luckier than many.Although I know nurses etc face all sorts they shouldn’t have had to face this every day without the proper equipment.
Eve, careworkers and hospital staff have actually been treated quite well. Daily covid tests, 3 months extra maternity leave (I don't know if that applied everywhere or not), more flexibility, overtime etc. if wanted. There are already counsellors, if required.
Mental health care in general, would be a good aim though.
