Is He Coming Out To Greet Me Now?

About 2 weeks or so ago, I noticed that when I'd first head down the stairs in the morning, I'd see Toby sitting in the hall. He'd head back to his underchair hiding place as I got to the bottom step.
This happened several days in a row.
I decided to see if he was there before I went to the loo...no.
But he's there when I go down the stairs.
This morning...he's sitting there, then lies down, rolls on his side and looks up to me. I'm talking to him...and hoping Cleo stays put out of sight. He then walks down the hall to the foot of the stairs, and looks up to me.
He ran back to his hiding place when Cleo got past me....

Still smacking the air with paws...and Cleo likes a good pounce. No damage being done...except for tufts of fur flying.

I think he is checking to see that everything is right in his world.

You'll soon be coming down the stairs to little noises and tail up in the air stuff.

Before you know it, he'll be coming to the top of the stairs and then racing you down (and providing a potential death trap in the process)!

I suspect that may take time. He may want to, but there's the feisty little guard cat on my bed.

Haha...Cleo...the little dirtbag...just jumped off the sofa, and as she passed, headbutted Toby as he slept on the floor. He had no time to react.

Do you ignore Cleo when she is a bully? If yes ignore her when she does it as she could be doing it to get your reaction

I do mostly try to...but sometimes I find myself showing my annoyance.
I talk to her when I notice she's in ready to pounce mode.
