My works pension comes on the 1st of the month or the last previous working day if the 1st is a weekend or a Bank Holiday. (mine will be there tomorrow)

Nope - I was aware of that ie Bank Holiday and so I was expecting it at least last Friday.

If it's due on the first - tomorrow is the first.

No I'm not due on the first - just end of every month and so with it being BH today it definitely shoulda gone in last banking day which was last Friday

Bet it is tomorrow - I have had similar issues with rent payments from a certain banking co, normally in on the 28th but has been as late as the 1st - this month it was yesterday......coming through Santander as the banks can be equally as responsible (greedy) in hanging on to the dosh for their overnight markets loan business.....

ok DTC - if it comes in tomorrow it will definitely be a first in 16 years.

think of what you are owed, multiplied by say 100k to 200k (at least) and then at 30% on the overnight loan market (usually for very short term financing and 30% can be very conservative) and you can get an idea of why company, bank or government treasurers want to hold on to your cash for an extra day or two......
