Texting abroad

I'm on vodaphone and my friend is on orange, he's in the caribbean so how much will it cost me to text him? And will he have to pay to receive it?

It normally won't cost you any more than normal to send, but likely as not it'll cost him to receive. Why not send from an on-line text thingy?

Generally it does cost to recieve and I believe it can be anything up to �2.50 per text

For you to send messages should cost just your standard messaging rate. For him to receive them may be free (receiving messages with T-Mobile whilst abroad is free, although I am unsure about Orange).
