Is There A Distinct Difference Between Bigotry And Racism ?

People can be racist too with someone of the same colour as themselves ie German , French etc
So what’s the difference between being a bigot to being a racist?
Racism to a black person is classed as a hate crime and rightly so,
Is it because a bigoted person either doesn’t know or doesn’t admit to being that?

I presume that all is well then, Andy? I could list lots and lots of things that would make peoples' hair curl, about working and living in an area that is heavily populated by immigrants and 2nd generation immigrants. And having knowledge of them (the incidents) gives some people an understanding of issues that others only read about, then post on tinterweb in an ignorant, yet sanctimonious manner.
How could I possibly list them? I'd have the racial vigilantes all over me, even though theses things are facts. Can't upset anyone can we? Apart from that, everything's fine thanks. :o)

A Bigot is prejudiced with their views and intolerant of others. A racist discriminates against other ethnic groups or races.
