Ageing Disgracefully

I am now seventy years old. What nice things do I have to look forward to?
So far, the older I get, the earlier it gets late.

Yes, suddenly you are 70. I had a big party - you can't stop it, so enjoy! Buen's advice is good. Doing my best to career usefully into the grave - all quite fun, apart from the health bits and pieces which just have to be coped with and take up more and more of your time. Doing my best to career usefully into the grave - all quite fun, apart from the health bits and pieces which just have to be coped with and take up more and more of your time.
I'm writing more short stories - realised I need to get stuff down . For the same reason I am contemplating a justification of my life - a sort of biography so my kids may have half a chance of understanding me. It is quite a spur really. It's also freeing to go through the horrors of will-making and signing those horrible bits of paper which hand over power if you get gaga. Not nice at the time.
So, get all the bits done and just really do all those things you have thought of doing and go places. I went to Thailand to see an old school friend! Had been putting it off for years and I now intend to go again when possible. I know this isn't on at the moment, but there is still a lot to do. Just use what time you have is left in the way that you think is best. :)

To be frank I've never enjoyed myself more, free to do as I please, come and go anywhere I choose, and have more or less what I want. As soon as the weather is looking good again I'm off to Scotland for 2/3weeks. Just because your 70 it don't mean your over and out, only if you think that way. My Mum said when she was 70 she thought that the end may be getting nearer, she's now 100, so who knows how long you may go on.
