No........the Ibuprofen gel acts locally, transdermal, absorbed through the skin, it doesn't go into the gastrointestinal intestinal tract where it occasionally causes problems.
Whilst taking any pain tablets , observing the dosage and frequency - you can also at the same time use the ibuprofen gel as and when you like ,and as frequently as you like alongside the tablets , without it causing any problem .
Rubbing on ibuprofen gel does me as much good as using butter, ie none at all. But I respond very well when taking it in tablet form. Does that sound odd?
