What's This Film........?

Sci Fi, approx 90s possibly 2000s. All I remember is that it's a bit like Aliens, a bunch of military hunting what is known in the film as "mechanical sword", a sort of slasher robot type thing. The other thing I remember is that they administer things like medication by smoking a series of different coloured cigarettes. Any ideas??

That's the one mamy, well done you tracked that down well. I should have got it myself because Paul Weller from Robocop is in it which is probably why I watched it in the first place!
