Label every bag and box with whichever room it's going into and find somewhere to stack everything out of the way. I think I took about 2 weeks slowly doing that on and off.
The most annoying things are things you can't pack yet lol, like kettle, plates, etc. But you can make a good start in advance- and take nothing you don't positively want. Good luck x

Colour code the boxes for the rooms they are to go to. Then put a coloured piece of paper on the appropriate door at the new place, pack a special box with the kettle, enough mugs, tea bags etc, some lightbulbs and toilet roll, and handwash, towel, and washing up liquid. Take it in the car so you have everything you need to hand before the main load arrives. No panicked searching through boxes when you get there.
I assume a firm will be involved as will lots of boxes?
When I moved from house A to house B I packed the boxes and they were picked up and delivered to house B.
Over the next few weeks I started to miss the odd item bit by bit. I realised that a box must have gone astray. Nothing valuable...nothing stolen.... just annoyingly lost.
When I moved from house B I numbered the boxes and checked that all numbers were present on delivery.

I had three friends with vans, who arrived and helped me get everything into the vans and into the right rooms the other side. Made them bacon sandwiches and tea, and then just spent the day unpacking. I had four under 10s, and actually, they were quite helpful in putting clothes and toys away. In a manner of speaking... they tried.
Thank you for your replies. We are going full circle. When we were first married lived in a very small 2 bedroom bungalow we moved our selves at that time in to this house and I remember thinking how the hell will I fill this house. Oh lord how I have filled this house. Have attacked everywhere, just loft and wardrobes to do now.
