Why do adults force kids to grow up too quickly by stripping them of "childish" stuff like toys and kids shows when they deem the kids to be too old for them?

Teachers follow the curriculum whatever their sexuality. If any teacher was trying to influence pupils in the way you are suggesting, Khandro, they would soon be booted out of the profession.
Don't forget the majority of gay, lesbian, trans, gender fluid, bi etc are born to heterosexual parents. Years ago such children grew up not knowing of anyone else like them, feeling very isolated - thankfully times have changed.

Apologies to the op. If a boy (for instance) says I want to be a girl, I feel like a girl, how do they know what it feels like to be a girl? Do they mean they like wearing dresses, playing with dolls and other ‘girly’ things? I feel like me, I don’t think about feeling like a female, or male.
When I was 8 I wanted to be a boy. So pleased no one took me seriously.

you're supposed to learn nursery rhymes in the nursery; school's too late for them. I never learnt one at school - the things we learnt were more like folk songs and rounds.
