ROY, you suggested using a tripod, cable release or wireless to fire the gun.

My point is that if any one of those methods had been used in this incident, it's not obvious to me how that would that have prevented it from happening as it was what was in the barrel that caused the death, not the means of pulling the trigger.

A cable is less likely to be visible but would a tripod not stand out and have to be digitally removed in post-production?

A CGI effect would negate the need for anything in a gun or rifle and remove the risk of any further accidents.

Blank firing guns normally only shoot out wadding and residue, was this gun loaded with an actual "round"? We won't know until the inquest is completed.

Yes it is a tragedy. Sadly it is a case of sloppy safety procedures.

I read earlier that during a pause in filming AB was practising drawing his gun out of the holster and it was during ones of these 'draws' that he pulled the trigger.......as any of us who did that as a child will have done, although possibly *without* making the "pew-pew" sounds....

The latest information is that he was handed a gun with live rounds in it and told that it was safe.

Apart from the obvious f up there, I still don't understand why live rounds should be anywhere on a film set in the first place.
