Public opinion is very fickle.
Johnson is less trusted and less popular than the Labour leader just now. That may change but it’s a myth that Johnson is generally massively popular with people. He’s actually quite divisive and has a lower popularity rating than several of his predecessors yes even Mrs May on becoming PM
