Boris Johnson
Over the last few days there has been a plethora of posts on AB critical of Boris Johnson.
It would appear that most ABers have woken up to the fact that Boris is a totally inappropriate person to hold the office of Prime Minister. Even TTT is unwilling to express his undying adoration for this fool.
Before this furore, I pointed out that Boris is not a suitable person to be put in charge of the stationery cupboard. All his history was there to be seen, from being sacked from his job twice for lying (three times, if you count Michael Howard sacking him), giving his lover a £126k contract from his employer – believing there was no requirement to disclose this relationship (even denying the relationship) believing he had done nothing wrong – claiming he knew nothing of who paid for the refurbishment of 10 Downing St., etc, etc.
Just how long can this clown hang on?

I have never denied being a supporter, why does that single me out for the abuse you seem compelled to give? Do you expect me to change my mind and agree with you? It's interesting that you find me so interesting that you base this entire thread on me. Psychologists probably have a word for that.
hymie: "I think posting ‘Boris could roger the duke of York with a prize winning leek on prime time TV and Labour still wouldn't win’ shows a level of undying adoration " - oh dear, you really are struggling to understand the aim of that aren't you? What if I replaced the word "Boris" with "any Tory leader" - would that help you comprehend? This was an anti Labour statement, I do that, I hate Labour I have the opposite of "undying adoration" for them. That statement was meant to say that it does not matter how bad the tories are, Labour are worse and cannot win. It was not pro Boris, it was anti Labour and for good measure the sentence was lifted out of a Blackadder episode for comedic affect. Geddit?
None of the available candidates are fit for the office of PM, but Boris is the best on offer. His sterling progress of Brexit against rabid anti-democratic opposition, proves his credentials. (Irish Sea border excepted, but he had to move things on and sort details later.) His unfortunate handling of Covid is more down to criticism of his earlier handling which wasn't that bad except where he allowed cases to return to care homes; and he is now desperate to be seen as over rather than under cautious. Understandable but ridiculously over the top. He does his image more harm than good that way. Much of the rest is more mud raking by opponents than anything.
Mozz: His profile says last activity 20:48 yesterday, but there actually is a post at 22:47 some 2 hours after what AB thinks is "last activity" - some very iffy programming pervades this site so you'll forgive me if I take those times with a pinch of salt. He no doubt saw both our answers last night anyway.
TTT – so you now want to change your sycophantic post supporting Boris, by removing his name from the post – and then claiming it shows you have no such support for him.
That’s rather like being sued for libelling someone, and your defence is that had you written the libel with someone else’s name, they would not be able to sue you.
I’ve never heard of someone using such a defence – maybe Barmaid could give her opinion as the likelihood of the success of such a strategy.
Anyway – you have nothing to worry about from me, unless you post more sycophantic Boris supporting posts, then I will call you out for it.
