Chainsaw Trousers

my husband just bought himself a chain saw.
i happen to be partial to all his limbs
he tells me there "ani chopping your leg off" trousers you can buy. What do i need to look out for? Are cheaper end ones better than super-expensive ones when it comes to retention of limbs? or do they just all do the same job?

Modern chainsaws have safety devices which would make it almost impossible for anyone to saw off their leg.

Unfortunately it seems to offer no guidance as to the best ones, or what the difference is.

Perhaps you should get long leg ones for before and short leg ones for after.

They usually have a lot of layers which would clog the saw up and stall the engine so maybe the best are those with the most layers. But then the type material might make a difference. You need to do more research.

If a person needs trousers made of chainmail to use a chainsaw, perhaps he shouldn't.

If he wants to use the saw get good tuition first..then buy the best trousers you can afford,but try them on first as some get very hot and can be a problem in summer. Get a face guard and a pair of decent gloves as well.The only safety devise on a chainsaw is the kick back guard and that wont save your limbs. There are old arborists and bold arborists..but never both :-)

Ryzen another safety feature on any chainsaw I have used is a Dead-Man’s Switch a trigger that is connected to the throttle that is depressed during use.

In my experience, make sure the trousers are lined with chain clogging
material down the fronts of both legs, chaps can give good protection too, and are more comfortable in warmer weather.
Don't forget hand, head and foot protection also.
