I had the wrong result or unclear result. Lived with it for a year. Only just told I no longer have the issue.

Not easy to understand exactly what you mean here as you've not provided much info. Was it wrong or was it unclear? Was there any doubt shown by the doctor?
Yeah a uni medical course is full of them - ter daah !

when I waltzed back into a surgeon's consulting room - and said "one year - i have done it yippee I am a long term survivor of ca colon"

He replied: I didnt say that but you may have heard that

which I thought summed it up nicely

( ca colon if you survive a bit more than 2 years without recurrence then you are likely to be a long term survivor. Your mortality per year goes back to the reference group's. I can put that in Greek if you like)
Lots of cartoons with a doctor across a desk to a patient
two speech bubbles
" These test dont show much: I am sure you are gonna be all right"
and another
" you are gonna DDDDDIIIIIIIIEEEEEEE in precisely 3 1/2 mins"
