Good on the Aussies for getting this specimen out of their country. Perhaps he'll now organise another superspreader tennis tournament in his native land. Good riddance.

He'll be hoping they say, "Nole prosequi"...

Good, it's done now - even if it took them over 10 days to do it!
he lives in Monaco - that's how much he rates Serbia.
This has been an interesting thread, with ichkeria maintaining the voice of reason throughout.

I said back at the beginning that I thought Mr Djokovic was getting a raw deal in the media, and therefore in the pubic eye, and I maintain that as being true.

That said, his family have not helped weeping and wailing as though he is being publicly tortured instead of simply detained in a quarantine hotel.

Of course his family take his side, what family wouldn't, but he would have retained a lot more dignity without their own circus sideshow cluttering up news reports.

The ends result is, the blame lies fairly and squarely with the Australian authorities, who either have immigration laws so complex that even they don't understand them, or they tried to bend their own rules to allow a serious money-spinner to go ahead, or a murky combination of the two.

If Mr Djokovic insists on avoiding vaccination, then he is held accountable to the laaws of countries in which he wishes to ply his trade - it's as simple as that.

Yes his fellow countrymen want to hold him up as a poorly treated martyr of nasty racism, but really he is a victim of his own personal viewpoints, so no-one is ultimately responsible but him.
His treatment by Australia is disgusting.
Nope - his contempt for the law (even of his own country) is what is disgusting - even more disgusting is his contempt for the health of others (assuming he really had tested positive before his well documented breaches of isolation).

He tried to blag his way in and was rumbled - the Aussies screwed up on a procedural level on his arrival - but have now rectified matters.
MWG - // His treatment by Australia is disgusting. //

Difficult to argue - but they simply got themselves into an embarrassing situation and took a standard no-nonsense approach to getting it dealt with.

But Mr Djokovic is only in this situation because of his own determination to avoid the realities surrounding him.

He is an professional international sportsman.

His workplace is the world where a pandemic is raging.

His choice is either simply to comply with the medical regulations that allow him to ply his trade, or to prefer not to comply, and stay at home until the restrictions stop.

He has aimed at the best of both worlds, and lost, and as I have already pointed out, the responsibility for that is entirely his own.
Yesterday even lied on his application....or signed it without checking his agent had accidentally or accidentaly on purpose filled it in wrong
I feel that he was treated badly.

The bottom line that his beliefs precluded entry into the country and may fuel exacerbation of anti vaxers.

In my opinion that is a dangerous precedent to set.
//Yesterday even lied on his application....or signed it without checking his agent had accidentally or accidentally on purpose filled it in wrong//

bobb.....agreed, but that is not why his visa was revoked.
Well, as we keep being told by Virginia Guiffre '' However rich and famous they are no-one is above the law''.
