I recall watching David Bryant a good few years back. With just the one ball left, he walked toward the 'end', studied for a minute or so, then dropped his handkerchief where he wanted his ball to stop. He retrieved his handkerchief and took his shot. The ball stopped and the cameraman superimposed the shot of the handkerchief, which was exactly where the ball was.
it's like any of these 'sports' the truly talented often have terrible technique. Alex Higgins for example should have been terrible at snooker. Jocky Wilson was all over the place at darts...etc
