Mirena Coil

hi i have just had the mirena coil fitted today due to really heavy periods and pmt, i have three children and dont want anymore! I did have this coil fitted just after the last child and was in a lot of pain with it, i went back to GP and they checked me and it had been fitted wrong! I do hope its fitted right this time and does anyone know how you can tell if it falls out?? someone i spoke to said if periods are really heavy it can make them come out? help please

Hi. I had heavy periods, particularly after birth of my second child. Had mirena fitted twice - both dislodged and caused lots of pain as they were in wrong position. Both times, however, my periods were better when it was in place. Ended up having a hysterectomy however a couple of years ago. Best thing ever did !!

How can you tell if they become dislodged? also how old were you when they gave you a hysterectomy?
