Ok, at this exact moment guys - in your home, count HOW MANY of the following are plugged in, how many are actually being used, and how many are switched on at the mains but not being used??
Apparently just by turning electrical items off at the actual mains can save money.

T.V’s, DVD/ C.D/video players, stereos, iPads/tablets/Kindles, mobile phones, ALEXA.

Anything classed as ‘entertainment’ basically. Feel free to add anything I’ve missed!
For me:
T.V - 2. Both plugged in and on at mains but only 1 used.
DVD - plugged in and on at mains but off(in fact why do we even have it!)
Stereo - same as above .
iPad - on and being used.
Kindles - 2. Both off.
Mobiles - 2. Both on and being used.
ALEXA. - 1. Plugged in , on at. mains but not on.

This doesn’t even begin to start on kettles, toasters, ovens, etc etc. lol.
(Obviously nobody is going to turn their fridge freezer off at mains!!!)

1 tv
1 washing machine
1 tumble dryer
1 stereo
1 microwave
1 cooker
1 desktop computer

Remember they say that if no light on appliances, then no bill!!
T.V’s 3 - two unplugged.
DVD - Unplugged.
C.D' players 2 - Plugged in.
Video players 2 - Unplugged.
Stereos 4 - Plugged in (1 stereo in use, amplifies music from PC)
1 iPhone - Charging (5 in Mobile graveyard)
PC - 2 Plugged in. (1 In use)
Microwave - Plugged in (That darn clock... makes sense now.)
I’m not counting but everything is plugged in except things that I plug in just to charge or use less than daily, like the iron. The washing machine and dryer are in action and the central heating is on.

I must have a cupboard of DVD’s lol - going to have to have a look thru them now and see why on earth I’m keeping them!
1 tv, virgin tivo box, broadband hub, pc, using the main kindle. The other two are off.
Bath lift charging, and apart from that it's just the fridge/freezer.
I keep it near the bed, but sometimes forget to charge it. Very upsetting when I come to use it.
No idea and couldn't care less, most of the plugs are behind heavy furniture and I refuse to go "scratting around" to save myself £20 or so a year.
Me too, sqad.
Where to start.......most are plugged in and on standby.

TV x 2 on / standby
Xbox x 2 off
Numerous cable chargers on multi-sockets
SkyQ box and mini box always on / standby
Work laptop which is always on charge as the battery life is pants
Bluetooth headsets off
Bluetooth ear pods on and off but need charging every couple of days
Google nest on
Lenovo alarm clock with Google assistance on
Sofa USB sockets and recliner controls

Haven't even started on the kitchen appliances and probably loads of other stuff that I've forgotten.

It soon adds up doesn’t it tigger lol!

Agree Sqad/Naomi, guess I’m curious more than anything about how many people(like me!) have devices plugged in and on display that that will almost certainly never ever use again!!mainly DVD/CD players, stereos……. Just why?? Lol.
I must be living in the stone age....
I havnt had a tv for years, so no add on's (dvd, recorders, sky, etc)
Recently had a fridge/freezer breakdown...not even bothered to replace it. Never missed it either. Made do without.
Never owned a tumble dryer.
In cold weather dry on radiators,
In warmer weather dry on racks placed by open windows.
(I live in a tower block, used to dry outside on a line when I had a house)

If you can still carry on as normal, think yourselves lucky.
My bills have just gone up £40 a month when I am living minimalist
as it is.
Just cancelled Virgin internet but upped my EE phone data which which
seems to have saved me a few pounds but that is taken back by the energy companies increase.
breaking even at the moment re bills but food increases is worrying.

Never had a tumble drier in Spain.
Dunno why we got a fridge, its usually empty.
We do use 2 lappys+ 2 mobbys.
No telly, no dvd player.
Our leccy bills aren't a problem yet.
I do most of the cooking, bout 3 times a week, thinking bout getting a thermal cooker.
We're due a quarterly bill this week, I'll get back to you.
I have got plugged in and mains on - TV, Laptop router, Laptop printer, and telephone. Not too much.
