Well, new to me. A three year old electric Renault Zoe, one previous owner, 15000 miles on the clock, immaculate condition.
I’m thrilled to bits with it, having not driven for about five years I was contemplating a course of refresher lessons but having got back behind the wheel my confidence has increased daily.
I didn’t think I’d ever want another car but due to a number of factors in the last few months it’s been the right thing to do and has made me feel less isolated and reliant on others.

I would only use the house supply(with the 3 pin plug) when you are in urgent need of a charge. Prolonged use via the 3 pin "can" damage a standard domestic supply. Liable to cause some overheating and long term issues, particularly on an old installation. Find yoir local charge points and use them untill you get your wall charge point installed. Enjoy your driving in the meantime. You are frreeeeee.
Not in anyway teaching you how to suck eggs. But be aware when pulling into places were people are walking like car parks.
I've nearly got run over one or two times in the last few weeks, you can't hear electric cars coming.
Over the years you get used to listening along with seeing cars coming.
I've even got caught out with cars reversing out of parking spots because you just don't hear an engine running when walking by.

Togo is correct about using a domestic 3-pin plug to charge your car. This from the Pod Point website:
While 3-pin plug sockets can charge EVs, they are not designed to support the kinds of loads for the time periods that EVs require. These loads can cause heating that tests the quality of historic domestic wiring, as well as the socket. Our Pod Point Experts have seen many issues of overheating when attending to subsequently install homechargers.

We did look into the issue of charging before we bought the car and know about the three pin socket issues.
The car came fully charged by the dealer and has a range of over 150 miles, depending on driving conditions. It’s only today it’s having it’s first charge here, in our garage, as all my ‘test’ drives have been local. The Renault dealership told us any of their electric cars can be charged, free, at any of the dealerships in their group, so we’re probably going to do that at some point.
However, we’re hopeful we’ll have a date very soon for the pod installation so won’t need any other means of charging for very long.
The car deliberately makes a noise when driven below 20 mph, to warn pedestrians but again, it’s something I’m very aware of. I’m a pretty slow at manoeuvring it too, so hopefully I’ll not squash anyone accidentally ;)
