We are not actually safe just yet. While i would rather have the points in the bag, Everton do have a couple of games in hand. I'll not exhale until we are mathematically safe :-))
A few weeks back, before Sean Dyche was sacked, my friend and i were discussing whether or not we would survive. Looking at the then remaining fixtures, i did point out that, after the Chelsea and City matches, most of our remaining home games were 'winnable', as were one or two away games (i did have Norwich (lost 2-0) and Watford (won 2-1) in mind when i said that. I also expected at least a draw at West Ham as we nearly always do well there - a game we would have won but for Cornet missing the only penalty we have been awarded all season!
We may beat Villa at home, but i believe we'll lose the away game, probably lose to Spurs, too and hopefully by the time we meet Newcastle in the season's finale, our future will be decided. And i hope it's still a PL future.

That's probably because, instead of starting at (or near) the bottom of the managerial rung, yesterday's top stars are given top jobs as their first managerial role, Arky.
They'd be much better off professionally (though not financially) cutting their teeth in the lower divisions but some are in too much of an hurry.

Suggested on another thread that the 'old boys' network was in force. Looking at the stats, i doubt that very much. Looks like Everton more or less adopted the same tactics they employed against Liverpool?
