Government Cover-Up
Following accusations that Boris Johnson personally intervened in the security services concerns over Lord Lebedev’s Peerage – the government promised to publish full details in relation to his appointment.
Now the government has reneged on that promise, citing national security grounds as the reason not to disclose the information.
After MPs backed Labour’s demands for full disclosure, Lord Lebedev said that ‘he had nothing to hide’ – it would appear that that statement is not true.
